Faye was a woman of compassion and public service. She loved organizing charitable dinners and working alongside her daughters, Ashley and Alayne, to support non-profit work that lifted and helped others in their community.

The Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center became a treasured part of their community when, at age 12, her youngest daughter was diagnosed with ganglioneuroblastoma and successfully treated there. The family has recognized that time each year thereafter with celebration and faithful thanks. Because of Faye’s declining health, she was unable to honor her daughter’s special time as she had hoped this year. On October 15, 2019, Alayne recognized 20 years as a cancer survivor.

Cancer is difficult, and it can be lonely. My Special Aflac Duck is a "smart" comforting companion, available via participating hospitals, free of charge to every child, ages three and up, who has cancer. With two patents pending, lifelike movement and emotions, and a mixed-reality app, this innovative social robot uses interactive play to help distract children coping with cancer.

My Special Aflac Ducks can be requested by medical care providers by registering at Aflac.com/MySpecialRequest.  Once registered, health care providers can order as many My Special Aflac Ducks as needed and as often as needed.  For more informaiton, visit AflacChilchoodCancer.org.
