Dear Friends,
As you all know, my granddaughter Kennedy has spent a large part of her young life at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. We are grateful for all the tremendous care she has received from the excellent doctors and staff for her many procedures, and feel blessed knowing she has the opportunity to lead a normal life. However, there are many children there with a different fate. After taking a tour of the AFLAC Cancer Center, there was no doubt that I would make the best effort I could to help raise funds that target research for pediatric cancer conducted at the hospital. Seeing parents holding their child in their laps while they received chemotherapy, touched me in a way I find difficult to describe in words. It hit home how precious and fragile life is for these children.
I have worked nonstop since that day in helping elevate the St. Paddy O'Pedal Ride to Conquer Childhood Cancer to the next level. While most of you will not be coming to this bike event or our Kids BikeFest, I hope you will consider making a donation through the link on this page. There are so many worthy causes in the world and I am hoping you will consider this to be one of them. I firmly believe that when we bind together to tackle a problem, success is around the corner.
With deepest appreciation,
Karen
P.S. If you have a few minutes to play the video above, you will have the chance to meet Reese. On the tour of the AFLAC Cancer Center, I was able to see the bell that all children hope to ring.
