What is the Strong4Life Superhero Sprint?

A family-friendly 5K and 1 mile fun run. We are asking participants to dress as your favorite superhero, as we will be hosting a costume contest for children and adults.

Who do the funds benefit?

This event benefits Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's Strong4Life movement, dedicated to reversing the epidemic of childhood obesity and its associated diseases in Georgia. By just doing the 5K you can help raise the funds needed for Strong4Life to reach even more families through school and provider training programs, community partnerships and policy change efforts.

When is the last day to register online and by mail?

By mail: Monday, August 17th
Online: Thursday, August 27th at 8:00 a.m. EST

Can I register on race day?

Yes, the cost of each registration type will increase by $5. We accept cash, checks (made out to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta), and all major credit cards. Registration will be open from 7am 8:45am on race day.

How do I get my runner/walker number?

Participant numbers are not being mailed to participants for the Strong4Life Superhero Sprint. Participants will pick up numbers on race day during registration, open from 7 to 8:45am.
Please bring the confirmation you received online or your photo ID to pick up your race number. If you are picking up a race number for someone else, please have the full name they used when registering.

What if I can't make it to the race and don't have someone to...

What if I can't make it to the race and don't have someone to pick up my shirt for me?

Shirts will only be mailed to Sleep in Superheroes. Please have a friend or family member pick it up for you on race day. If you are picking up a runner shirt for anyone that was unable to make it to the event you must have their runner number with you.

Where do I park for the event?

All races begin and end inside Piedmont Park.
We encourage participants to take public transportation such as MARTA. However, there are parking options available in the area around Piedmont Park.
There will be limited parking at the SAGE Parking Deck and the Campanile Parking Garage on Juniper Street will be open for attendees for $7.

Please note that parking is not permitted in neighborhoods around the park. If you choose to park in these areas your car may be booted or ticketed.

How do I know if I am registered?

If you register online you will receive a confirmation email. If you register by mail, your cancelled check will be your confirmation. On race day, bring your confirmation or ID and pick up your number at registration from 7 to 8:45am.

How do I get my shirt if I signed up as a Sleep in Superhero?

Your shirt will be mailed to you the week following the race. It will be mailed to the address that you wrote/printed on your application.

How does team registration work?

We encourage teams to register online and create their own team shirts. We will be having a contest for the best team T-shirt design, most spirited and most creative team.

If I want to write a check, to whom do I make the check payable?

Please make checks payable to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

What is the policy on refunds for registration fees?

There will be no refunds or returns issued for registration fees.

Will the event be cancelled if the weather is bad?

No, this is a rain or shine event.

Are there water stations along the course?

Yes, and we also have a water station in the pre-/post-race area.

Will restrooms be available?

Yes, we have port-o-johns available and there are also stationary restrooms inside the park.

What are the costume contest categories?

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, please bring your strollers and jogging strollers and join us for the fun.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes. Piedmont Park does allow dogs, but please follow the park rules when bringing your dog.
