$22.25 Matching Campaign
Meet Rowan Rieve. Rowan is a 12-year-old whose spirit and courage are nothing short of inspiring. He has been navigating a tough journey with cancer since 2021, facing multiple brain tumors due to a genetic condition called Li-Fraumeni Syndrome. Rowan has battled medulloblastoma, followed by a malignant glioma, and now most recently relapsed metastatic medulloblastoma, all within the last 3-4 years. As it stands today, there is no cure for relapsed medulloblastoma. During a recent visit to the clinic, Rowan's mom, Charlan, asked Dr. MacDonald about possible clinical trials for his condition. Unfortunately, because of federal funding cuts, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium (PBTC) trials will soon be closing, leaving Rowan and others without this option.
Despite these challenges, Rowan remains resilient and hopeful. Upon overhearing this conversation between is mom and his doctor, his response was remarkable. With unwavering determination, he handed Dr. MacDonald a small Ziplock bag containing $22.25. Thats what he raised from a lemonade stand he ran with his brother and two neighbors. His goal? To donate it to the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center and support pediatric brain tumor research. Rowan's generosity, even in the face of his own battles, is a shining example of selflessness and hope for a cure.
We are incredibly grateful for Rowan's heartfelt donation and want to honor it in a meaningful way. We are reaching out to our community to match Rowan's $22.25 gift. Imagine the impact we could make if just 100 people joined in- turning his contribution into $2,225 for vital research.
Would you consider matching Rowan's gift? It's a wonderful opportunity to show Rowan that even the smallest acts of kindness can lead to monumental change.
Thank you for your support and for believing in the power of compassion and community. Together, we can turn Rowan's generosity into a force for change and offer hope to many more children like him.
