Welcome to my Tower of Talent page
Mikari Tarpley is a 16 year old honors student at Cobb County’s Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts at Pebblebrook High School. She is a triple threat talent and has been dazzling audiences since the age of three. Mikari has been blessed to perform in productions such as “Young Nala” in Disney’s The Lion King Broadway National Tour 2015-2016. She was Mary (2013) & Desiree’ (2014 ) in Madeline’s Christmas and Mother Duck in “Honk, Jr.” (2014) at the Atlanta Children’s Theatre and many roles in numerous school productions. Mikari has also starred in film and television projects. She played ‘Lexi” in the Feature Film “Alex & Me” in June 2018 and ‘Tia’ in 2019 (season 4) of the Oprah Winfrey Network’s “Queen Sugar”.
In the fall of 2019 after a dance class at school she noticed something unusual about her neck. This was the beginning of a long journey for Mikari who after many doctor’s visits and tests was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She had to fight cancer all the while keeping safe from COVID-19 during a worldwide pandemic. With her faith in God, a positive attitude and the love and support from her family, and friends, Mikari beat cancer. On July 1st, 2020 after months of chemotherapy at the Aflac Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Hospital Atlanta/ Egleston, Mikari rang the victory bell to celebrate.
A singer & musician, Mikari’s love of music kept her going through those tough days. She believes that music heals and soothes the soul. She is honored to be an advocate and representative for Children's Hospital’s Music Therapy Program. Since this life experience, not only is she dedicated to the world of performing arts but is using her many talents to advocate, raise awareness and funding to help other children who suffer from serious illnesses and disease.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal in support of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
