We are raising funds in honor of our son, Jack Lyon, for whom we are naming a special room in the new Arthur M. Blank Children's Hospital at CHOA.  As parents of a child on the autism spectrum and hospital based physicians, we have seen both sides of the interface between persons on the autism spectrum and medical facilities.  The special room we are naming in honor of Jack will be a sensory diet room on the general pediatrics ward in the new Arthur M. Blank hospital.  This room will be accessible only to patients on the spectrum or with other significant sensory needs as well as their caregivers.  We envision the room as a haven where these special patients can find the sensory break they need.  Whether it be jumping, swinging, or just hanging out in a  "safe place" away from their hospital room, we can't wait to see the positive impact Jack's Place will make on these special patients.
