Our Child Life team provides legacy making/bereavement support to patients and families who have lost a friend, sibling, or child. We currently provide molds of our patients' hands and/or feet as a part of the bereavement process; however these molds are extremely fragile. Because of this, we would like to replace these molds with thumbprint jewelry to extend the longevity of the item for those grieving.

Keeping young children entertained during their hospital stay is crucial, so toys specific to their age group are needed. Items such as bubbles, Vtech activity toys, crib mobiles, and other small toys are just some of the many possibilities that will make our patients more comfortable during their stay.

Toys for this age group of patients are also needed. These items include toy race cars, Legos, play kitchen toys, Barbie dolls, and stress balls to name a few.

Tubie Friends are a great resource to help patients cope with the various medical equipment/procedures they will come in contact with during their treatment. Our patients often have NG/NJ tubes, G-tubes, ports, central lines, and other medical equipment on their bodies for various reasons. Especially for preschool and young school aged children, having a stuffed animal with the same medical equipment as you can help patients cope better with hospital experiences.

Child and teen games/movies provide distractions during infusions and procedures. We are in need of various games appealing to children of all ages! Teenage boys/young adults need certain games while younger children find others more appealing. These games can get expensive but it is important for us to keep them up to date and exciting!
