In loving memory of Dennis Dean Retzleff

Dennis Dean Dennis Dean Retzleff passed away peacefully in his home in March 2025, ending a courageous battle with cancer. He founded Dennis Dean Catering in 2001, allowing him to share his passion for food with the city of Atlanta for the past 24 years. In accordance with his final wishes, his legacy will live on through Dennis Dean Catering as the company takes on new ownership under Annie Duncan, longtime general manager, and Adam Shoemaker, director of sales. In addition to his passion for food, Dennis leaves a legacy of generosity in the Atlanta community. His love for children, art, and dogs led him to work closely with many charitable organizations in the area, including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dennis had a profound impact on others through his giving nature, but rarely spoke of it or sought recognition. His kindness knew no limits, even in the smallest gestures. It wasn't until friends and family reached out to the children's hospital after his passing that they were told Dennis had quietly purchased a painting at the 2024 Southern Sizzle auction - only to donate it back to Scottish Rite and the artist who had created it after learning how much the piece meant to her. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit of thoughtfulness will continue to brighten lives, just as he always did.

Dennis's giving nature knew no bounds, and in his memory, we continue his mission of caring for others. Contributions will support the Feed the Heart and Feed the Brain Programs, which provides meals, snacks, and drinks to heart and neuro patients and their families, allowing them to focus on what matters most - caring for their children. Our hope is that Dennis's spirit of benevolence will continue through your support of this meaningful initiative, ensuring that his commitment to helping others lives on.
