aflac This year, Women of Style and Substance will benefit the family support team at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. Due to the nature of their treatment, patients in treatment at Aflac spend more time on the inpatient unit than many other patients at Children’s. The Aflac family support team helps fill this time with enriching services and surrounds the center’s patients with an extra layer of protection.

Every dollar counts, and we wanted to show you exactly what that means. At the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center:

$25 could provide arts and crafts supplies for patient kits

$50 can fund teaching aids to help keep patients from falling behind in their studies

$100 can provide tools to distract a patient during a painful procedure

$250 could provide a prescription to fight the side effects of chemotherapy

$400 can fund diagnostic testing for a new patient

$1,200 could provide a teaching doll to teach cancer and blood disorder patients about their diagnosis and procedures

$1,500 can support a cancer survivor’s testing for psychological, mental, and physical late effects
